Who We Are

God the Almighty Charismatic Prayer Foundation International of Alberta, also known as the GTA Prayer Foundation, was founded on the birthday of Mother Mary on September 8th 2006. We are a lay Catholic charismatic society and a registered charitable society in Canada. Our purpose for being is to praise and worship God and live a renewed life in the Spirit. We are families and individuals who come together on weekends to pray. We also honour Mary through daily meditations of the holy rosary.  GTA prayer communities are in Alberta and British Columbia.  We have prayer partners in the Philippines and USA. The GTA charismatic prayer foundation is led by its Lay Servant Head Bro Ernie Alama, PhD along with the members of the Board, Officers and Chapter Coordinators.

What We Do

We witness the Gospel through personal and family renewal, community prayers, active parish engagements, spiritual and social support to foreign workers and new immigrant families, and fellowship.

I didn’t have the strength to conquer the vices that enslaved me for years. Since I joined the GTA Charismatic prayer community, I learned to self-surrender and allow God to take control over my life. I thank the GTA charismatic prayer community for the support and prayer.

I lost some friends. They didn’t understand why I can’t be with them or why I kept attending and serving the Holy Eucharist and participating in the GTA charismatic praise and worship on weekends. I wish they too experience the peace and joy in being with Jesus at the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. Being with the GTA prayer community further strengthened my faith in God.

It was my first time to attend a GTA charismatic Life in the Spirit Seminar. The outpouring of the Holy Spirit was overwhelming. We went to Confession and attended the Holy Mass. We sang songs of praise, reflected on the word of God, and prayed for healing. I experienced inner peace and freedom.

Foreign workers face loneliness and social isolation. I could have yielded to a sinful life had it not been through the GTA prayer community in Banff. Being with a prayer group is blessing to my life. God has used GTA to bring me back to the Catholic faith.
